Job Title: Member Service Representative
Location: Oklahoma City, OAEC Office
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 – 4:30

Starting Salary $40,000 - $45,000

Job Summary

Responsible for processing deposits, member transactions, and periodic lending advances. Performs routine administrative, accounting, filing, scanning, typing, and researching tasks.

Required Qualifications

Ability to perform teller duties accurately, and communicate effectively with the membership. Skill in using personal computer with Windows, MS Office, scanner, and typical office equipment. Analytical, organization, and accounting abilities essential. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and exercise good judgment.

Job Description

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Assists members and potential members with questions regarding membership, share accounts, certificates of deposits, loan and savings rates, terms, etc.
  2. Works as part of a team which requires assisting other team members when necessary.
  3. Prepares daily Bank of Oklahoma deposit.
  4. Balances stubs from bank deposit to credit union files.
  5. Makes necessary updates to member accounts for address changes, e-statement opt ins, etc.
  6. Process member requests via Teleweb.
  7. Prepares daily sheet to track work and ensure balancing.
  8. Generates credit union checks for loans, share withdrawals, online bill pay and expenses.
  9. Processes payment skip requests and wire requests.
  10. Sets up new credit union member accounts.
  11. Issues debit cards to members and troubleshoot card issues with members including initiating fraud investigations.
  12. Run OFAC searches as required.
  13. Prepares information for filing of liens as well as reviews the closed collateral report each week and processes liens releases sending them to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
  14. Originates signature, Christmas and select collateral loans.
  15. Processes loan add-ons.
  16. Processes loan payments via credit card, ACH and check.
  17. Reviews and resolves issues on the ACH exception report.
  18. Reviews and either approves or rejects mobile deposits.
  19. Monitors delinquent accounts, utilizing accepted collection techniques and recommending such legal action as may be required. This includes printing and reviewing delinquent notices before you mail them out.
  20. Processes payroll transfers from each cooperative and sends payroll balancing reports to each credit union director.
  21. Prepares and sends each director the new and closed loan report each week.
  22. Reviews and takes necessary action on the Loan Holding Account Surplus Report.
  23. Files paperwork either electronically or manually as required.
  24. Assists in preparation of information required for reports and audits.
  25. Maintain confidentiality and appropriately handles sensitive information.
  26. Prepares and sends out required notices for the annual credit score verification.
  27. Assists in all other daily operations directed by the Manager which are not inconsistent with policy and internal controls.
  28. Assists with various OAEC and credit union events throughout the year.

Required Skills, Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or G.E.D required.
  2. One year experience in a financial institution or retail customer sales/service environment required.
  3. Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and bad debt collection preferred.
  4. Must be well organized and have an eye for detail.
  5. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as member service skills.
  7. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  8. Ability to operate related computer applications and related business equipment.
  9. Dependability is a must.
