Keep your money protected this holiday season

Between online shopping, package deliveries and spreading holiday cheer, this time of year can get hectic. Unfortunately, scammers know this and use it to their advantage. Stay one step ahead by watching for these common holiday scams:

  • Package delivery scams: You might get a text or email saying your package is delayed or needs a small ‘delivery fee.’ Clicking the link could install malware or steal your information.
  • Gift card scams: Scammers often pose as coworkers, friends or even charities, asking you to buy gift cards and share codes.
  • Social media scams: Fake giveaways or ‘holiday deal’ posts might lead to phishing sites that collect your personal data.
  • Charity scams: Fraudsters take advantage of goodwill by creating fake charities or donation sites.

A little extra caution can go a long way this holiday season. To stay protected, avoid links or attachments from unknown sources, call or visit official websites instead of responding to messages, and monitor your accounts regularly. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts, and reach out to us directly before taking action. We’re here to help you enjoy safe and scam-fee holidays.
